Lots of good news from Ghana:
- I was told that my work with Jojo has paid off because he's now walking with more ease even when he's being held by one hand only; and he's even looking a bit taller and older.
- Victor's adoptive mom (a former volunteer from France) is at the end of the adoption process and she's arriving in Ghana in September to spend the 6 months required by the Ghanaian government before she can take Victor home. In the meantime, she'll be the new volunteer coordinator and Victor will live with her at the volunteer house.
- Tanya went back to the UK on Thursday after 6 months in Ghana.
- And Rebecca, who was supposed to stay another 3 months, left on the same flight after only 6 weeks in Ghana because she found out that she's pregnant!! She wanted to stay a bit longer but was advised to leave right away because it would be bad if she caught malaria. And she should get checked out because she's had lots of vaccines before she left and she took Malarone every day, which is probably not great. Anyway, congrats Bex & Matt!
- Poor Laura is left on her own but I'm sure she'll make new friends soon when more volunteers arrive. In the meantime, she's holding down the fort and I'll send her care packages to make her stay a bit easier.
